Not having a good time.

My DH is away working at the moment and Im left to hold the fort (which should be quite easy).  But I think I make things hard for myself.  I havent had a good night sleep since he left.  First night not much sleep(getting use to DH not being there).

Second night I had 2 extra for the night, so I had DD3 sleep with me and she kick all night.

 Third night couldnt sleep.

Forth night DD2 sick all night with gastro.

Fifth night DD3 got up to go to toilet and I walked her back to bed and then I could sleep.  Toss and turn for a hour and thought might as well get up and clean(as you do at that time of night).  Cleaning away  and went to put something in the kitchen (in the dark) and fell over the open dish washer door (not good on my knee that I had the op on a month ago).  Note to self.....  no walking around in the dark ( and Julie said "NO CLEANING AT 3AM IN THE MORNING")
Still a bit shaky.

DH doesnt come home for another 2 1/2 weeks.  I think I had better sit and sew from now on????

I can see this print in a pillow or a canvas ( thinking about that for my lounge room).

On a better note we have more material in the shop at Provincial Patch, so pop on over and check it out Acardia.  We have bolts of fabric as well as a great range of fat quarters.  We also have a Mothers Day special on at the moment so dont miss out.  You only have until Monday morning 11th May Australian time.

You poor thing! My husband is often away for extended periods...it is hard getting used to being on your own. Set some stitching goals & aim to have something special under way or done for when he gets home. Kids love egg on toast...hehe!

Oh dear, not quite the way you would like things to unfold. I do hope you and the tiddlies are feeling better. They are lovely fabrics - especially the leaf prints.

Take care...Ann :)

Oh Kerri, I hope you didn't mess up your knee!! Take a nap in the afternoon to help catch up on sleep and cleaning in the middle of the night works MUCH better if you turn the lights on...silly girl.

Make the most of it - My partner is rarely away in the evenings so when he is I take it as an opportunity to have guilt-free sewing time. A stitchery, a good dvd, my dog curled up beside me and a glass of wine - what could be better!

Ow Ow Ow! your poor knee! Don't get up to clean in the middle of the night, just grab a book and start reading cos there's no DH to bug you to turn off the light! Hope your girls stay healthy and your knee is okay...I'm wincing as I type this...

Try and take care of yourself, I know how you feel I was the same when my DH used to go away.

Sewing might help you and leave the cleaning.

cheers
Christine

The joys of being a quasi-single parent, it takes awhile to get used to. My hubby also worked away for the past 5 years, my solution was a hot chocolate about 1/2 hour before bed and read a novel, it usually worked.
Hope your knee is okay and forget about cleaning until the day before he gets back, there's better things to do like stitch!!
Hugs
Jo

Oh Dear I can relate to this...my hubby worked away alot last year...in the end the girls bought matresses into our bedroom and they "camped" the entire time...my room was trashed but their bedrooms were the tidiest they have ever been!! Good Luck for the next couple of weeks! Cathy

Sounds like you've had more than enough already! I too have a hard time trying to get to sleep when DH is not home. I like to read when I can't sleep. I never tried cleaning in the dark!

Your fabrics are just lovley! :0)

Take one day at a time when DH is away, change and security are always hard ones to come to grip with. Just think of all those lovely fabrics and it will all sort it self out. Thinking of You .
